Web development in Scotland – FTP

Many HTML websites simply rely on FTP to get the HTML files live. In CMS packages this is less common as you are entering the copy and images directly onto the server. Web development has come on along way in a short space of time and as web developers we seldom use FTP as a transfer mechanism when developing websites.

Web development in Scotland – some guidelines

As web developers Web Wise Business are often put in a position of trust by our customers who look to us as the experts. So as a way to share some of our thoughts and to help explain what we do we thought we should document a few of what we believe are important web development guidelines.

Websites and BNI Scotland (Fairfield Chapter)

We’re part of BNI – that’s Business Networks International – its a crack of dawn business network/refferal organisation. It hurt getting up that early at first – but now I just get up at the same ridoculous hour every morning – and skip newsnight (didn’t like the Scottish bit anyway).

Last week I did the ten minute slot (BNI’ers will know – others can do a google). I decided rather than flogging our website development services in Scotland I’d simply say heres the three things everyone needs to do in the room with their website – Acquire Traffic, Convert it to Business and Retain the customer. I think it made more of an impact with a few of my BNI friends than me simply saying we’re really clever at building websites (which we are of course).
