Red Hot Chilli Piper’s have a blast
Great to see the live DVD “Blast” from the Red Hot Chilli Pipers hitting the streets. It captures a truly buzzing night at the Fruitmarket earlier in this year. I take my hat off to the guys who put this together for the Chilli Pipers – first class stuff. The legion of fans have been hitting the website to get their hands on it. Good to have played a small part with the suport of their ecommerce website.
Stats and figures for competitions
Its the first time we have run a competition on our website so we’ve been fascinated watching the viral thing work for the Red Hot Chilli Pipers free offer (free tickets for their Stirling Gig). Here is what we are finding – almost randomly someone sticks the free offer on another site and we see a spike in traffic. Moneysavingexpert was one spike, a competition site another, a bagpipe site etc and so on. We’re hoping two things – one that the gig is brilliant and two we can reuse the stats to show our customers how to manage their expectations for a competition.

Red Hot Cowal from The Red Hot Chilli Pipers
I’ve been going to Cowal for a good many years now. And over the years the Pipers in The Red Hot Chilli Pipers have featured in one way or another. Either as part of The Royal Burgh of Stirling Pipe Band or Shotts or a n other pipe band – but last weekend The Red Hot Chilli Pipers did something quite special for Cowal Highland Gathering.
The Ceilidh tent is new thing (relatively) for Cowal – putting the Red Hots on at it from 4pm was a stroke of genius. At a time of day when the early start is starting to hurt – The Red Hot Chilli Pipers got everyone going again. They just might have redefined Cowal Games for years to come.

Red Hot Chilli Pipers – the men (and women) who stole the worlds
The Fruitmarket gig for the Red Hot Chilli Pipers was the night before the Worlds (thats World Pipe Band Championships).
For my money they stole the show and weren’t even there. So they stole the Worlds – admittedly with the help of some non trad dancers. Sure SFU (do a google) were almost note perfect (medley intro oops moment accepted) and sure Shotts did the turn in a circle thing (quite a surprise).
SFU were inspirinig, Shotts made me cheer but the Red Hot Chilli Pipers had all that and then dancers to look at. Now – if the dancers want a website we’ll be happy to do the website development in Scotland for free for them. Though we’ll need lots of consultation time.
Red Hot Chilli Pipers – the after show party
Doing websites in Scotland you don’t often get invited out. So thank goodness that one of our clients are The Red Hot Chilli Pipers.
After their gig at the Fruitmarket their record company (REL) had a wee doo up the stairs. We got an invite and even a wee vote of thanks for the website development and website support. Nice one Stuart.
Actually…. first memory of lead Red Hot piper Stuart Cassells was a good number of years back as he addressed a party from on top of a table…… nothings changed…. he still addresses crowds from table tops as the party at the Fruitmarket confirmed.
Red Hot Chilli Pipers …. Fruitmarket
The Fruitmarket gig for The Red Hot Chilli Pipers was something else and we are dead chuffed to be playing a small part by supplying the website support for them.
The gig was recorded for a DVD and we’re looking forward to seeing how the show looks on the telly. The gig itself was a sell out and had clearly taken a lot of pulling together. Congratulations to all the Red Hot Chilli Pipers for a great show.

They are playing at the Cowal Highland Games on Saturday 30th August after the main pipeband competition has finished. Yes, we do run their website but if you haven’t seen them – try and catch them – it’s couple of hours of great fun.
