At times it’s hard to figure out if a problem will take 5 minutes our 5 days to fix. A couple of days ago I thought I was being told that we had an unsurmountable problem with an RSS feed that would require legions of developers to resolve.

Nope! As I grappled to understand what the problem was, and how severe it was, one of the team spotted my frown and said “should’nt take more than 20 minutes.”

To be honest that was all I needed to know – isn’t technology marvellous and isn’t the use of xhtml a god send? What a pity the internet can’t be redone to fix all the various legacy issues that lurk around. I’d have less lines on my head if it was redone.
